Description
The Annual Fraser Valley Marches for Women is aligned with the Canadian national movement to unify and empower everyone who stands for human rights, civil rights and social justice. This was started to raise awareness of violence against women and women’s rights in the Fraser Valley in January of 2018 in response to being turned down by the City of Chilliwack for a temporary shelter when women were dying on our streets. We partner with UFV, the Fraser Valley Labour Council and Wilma House.
Sign-making and gathering starts at 11 a.m. in the Ann Davis parking lot at 9046 Young Road. Marchers will be heading out at 11:30 a.m walking toward to City Hall along Young Road. Speakers joined by traditional singers and drummers will begin at noon.
For anyone with mobility issues, meet us at City Hall – 8550 Young Rd. at 12 Noon.
