Rooted Waters: The Names and Stories of Nine Bands Connected by Streams

Please join the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce, for an evening rich in Culture!

We have journeyed through our local Indigenous lands and had the privilege of listening to the stories passed down through generations, tales that intimately connect the Stó:lō people to the land, waters, and skies of this region.

Through these stories, we've gained a deeper understanding of their cultures, traditions, and the significance of place names that reflect their deep-rooted connection to the land.

This community screening is a culmination of our journey, a chance to share the wisdom we've gathered, the stories we've heard, and the connections we've forged. Through the words of Sonny McHalsie and the vibrant Indigenous entertainment on display, we aim to honor and celebrate the profound legacy of the Stó:lō people in our community.

By offering Bannock and light refreshments & an Indigenous Artisan Market, we extend an invitation for everyone to partake in this cultural exchange, fostering a spirit of unity and understanding among us all.
