Civil Nights- Accessing Local Government with the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce & The Grand Hall

June 9, 2026 (3:00 PM - 5:00 PM) (PDT)

Description

Local governments make decisions that impact our lives every single day - from how we do business to how we experience our community.

Join us for an engaging and practical session exploring the municipal landscape and the importance of getting involved at the local level.

Hosted by Monique Nicholas in collaboration with Women Transforming Cities, this workshop will break down how decisions are made, who to connect with, and how you can confidently engage in the processes that shape our city. Together, we’ll explore ways to better understand and influence the policies and priorities that impact our community.

Whether you’re looking to stay informed, advocate for your business, or strengthen your voice locally, this session will provide approachable, real-world tools you can put into action right away.

Key learnings include:

  • Understanding local government jurisdiction and the City Hall ecosystem
  • How decisions are made at the municipal level - and where your voice fits in
  • Strategies to better understand candidate platforms and priorities
  • Creating a simple, practical voting plan ahead of the upcoming municipal election

Hosted at The Grand Hall Chilliwack and connected to their Civil Nights series, this is a unique opportunity to learn, connect, and strengthen your role as a local leader.
